PEGGY HABER, MSW, LICSW
Therapist
In counseling, I seek to create an environment that nurtures one's sense of connectedness and compassion for self. I am always truly honored by the vulnerability and courage it takes to begin the journey of therapy. My aim as a therapist is to provide a safe space for clients to explore areas of growth and change. I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach to meet the individual needs of each client. I work from a strength based, person centered perspective to help clients reach their goals and live a fulfilling life. I view the therapeutic process as a collaborative one, where we create and define goals, moving towards them together, reviewing, and refining during the course of our work together.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington School of Social Work. I have 21 years experience working with children, adolescents and parents in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Department at Seattle Children’s Hospital in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I served as an outpatient therapist at Ryther Child Center for 4 years, providing individual and group therapy for children, teens and parents.
My areas of clinical focus include parenting, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, emotion regulation, and identity development. I work with tweens, adolescents and adults. Evidenced based modalities I draw upon include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have certifications in CBT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
